SMARTEXT (Smart’s Unlimited Texts to Smart/TNT)

I am a Globe user, eversince the world began. But, I tried Smart just today (I’m not switching to Smart, just testing it.). After I loaded it with P50, I got a message about their SMARTEXT which is a ‘market test only’ according to their text message.

You can enjoy unlimited texts from Smart to Smart/TNT for 5 days for P60 only. But according to their text advisory, this is a ‘Market Test Only’ which will run until November 14, 2009.

To register to this smart’s new unlimited text offering, text: 60 to 258.

Compared to their existing ALLTEXT UNLI25 offering, which is unlimited texts from Smart to Smart/TNT and free 10 texts to other networks for P25/day, SMARTEXT comes to be cheaper by 50%. Because with P60 for 5 days unlimited texting, it will come out that you would spend P12 for 1 day unlimited texting. Only no information about how much free texts is allocated to other networks. Nevertheless, I believe this is a good offer to those heavy texters using on Smart network.

Can this be Smart’s response to Globe’s IMMORTAL TEXT which offers 50 free texts Globe to Globe/TM and 10 free texts to other networks without expiry date? Owkei, I’m a Globe user and a loyal one. And, I think IMMORTAL TEXT is pale in comparison to this SMARTEXT. But I guess, it depends on what type of user are you. I think SMARTEXT is very good for heavy texters, texters who can send out at least more than 15 texts in a day to justify the P60 spend for 5 days unlimited. But if you are someone whose text statistics is less than 10 texts/day, then you’re better off with Globe’s IMMORTAL TEXT offer.

I like to try this but then I only have a P50 load on my Smart. So tomorrow, SMARTEXT here I come!

It’s true that it depends what kind of user are you but I prefer Globe IMMORTAL text. It’s much cheaper

    Globe: 10 pesos * 6 = 60 pesos
    50 text to globe/tm = 300 text to globe /tm
10 text to other networks = 60 text to other networks

This is a 6-day computation to compare SMART’s promo of 60 pesos.

And this is not a Market Test.
